Princess Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, announced earlier this year that she was undergoing chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer. She described it as a preventative treatment. The Royal Family has always emphasized the importance of privacy and specifics regarding the Princess’s condition are not being shared publicly
Princess Kate, the Princess of Wales, shared encouraging news about her cancer treatment before her first public appearance in months. The princess, who has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy, said she is making good progress but still has a long way to go.
In a heartfelt message on Friday, Kate expressed her gratitude for the thousands of supportive messages she received worldwide after announcing her diagnosis in March. These messages have greatly uplifted her and her husband, Prince William.
“Chemotherapy has its ups and downs,” Kate said. “There are days when I feel strong and days when I need to rest. But the support has made a world of difference.”
Princess Kate, 42, is set to make her first public appearance since December at the “Trooping the Colour” parade on Saturday. She will ride in a carriage with her children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte. She will also join King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Despite her improved health, Kate’s aides emphasize that she will not fully return to her busy schedule yet. Her treatment will continue for several more months.
In her message, Kate revealed she had major abdominal surgery in January, leading to her cancer diagnosis. She began chemotherapy in February, and while specific details about her cancer remain private, she remains positive about her recovery.
“On good days, I enjoy engaging with school life and spending time on activities that bring me energy,” Kate shared. She has started working from home and holding meetings when she feels well.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak praised Kate’s bravery and honesty, calling her message “wonderful news” that would comfort many facing similar challenges.
King Charles, also receiving cancer treatment, expressed his delight at Kate’s return to public duties. He continues to manage a limited schedule to focus on his recovery.
William remains dedicated to supporting his wife and children while continuing his royal duties.
She is recently seen on the Buckingham Palace with her family. Her stature shows resilience and grace while handling such difficult times in her life.
