On August 9, the body of the young doctor was found in a seminar hall at the hospital where she worked. Moreover, an autopsy confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted. The main suspect, Sanjay Roy, a civil volunteer associated with the Kolkata police, has been arrested. However, the victim’s family and the public demanded a more transparent investigation, leading to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) taking over the case.
Protests and Strikes
The brutal murder has led to widespread protests, with doctors and medical staff taking to the streets to demand justice.
