Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, announced plans for nationwide protests on September 27 to demand the release of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder. His announcement comes amid rising tensions with the Punjab government.
During his speech, CM Gandapur stated, “For what purpose do I offer an apology? Register as many cases as you want against me; I will not be afraid.” He criticized the current government for allegedly coming to power through unfair means, specifically mentioning “Form 45,” a reference to the election process.
Gandapur Emphasized They Will Not Accept Illegal Actions
Gandapur emphasized that his party will not accept any illegal actions against its members. He declared, “I am not a slave of the Punjab government,” and suggested that those in power should be the ones offering apologies for the injustices they have caused.
He condemned the existence of two legal systems in Pakistan, where different laws apply to various segments of society. “It is unacceptable to have two constitutions in one state,” he said, arguing that the law should apply equally to everyone, regardless of their status.
Addressing recent claims that authorities had opened routes for protests, he expressed disbelief. “I arrived at Kala Shah Kaku at 5:30 pm, and there were obstacles,” he noted. He criticized the government for not allowing PTI to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, saying, “If you believe in democracy, you should allow us to gather.”
Moreover, CM Gandapur assured the public that they stand with democracy and the constitution. He announced that a public gathering would take place in Mianwali on September 29, followed by events in Rawalpindi and other cities.

The protests are also expected to draw significant attention as Gandapur rallies support for the PTI founder and challenges the government’s actions. The nationwide demonstrations aim to unite supporters and assert their commitment to democratic principles amid growing political tensions.
