Pakistan’s blind Cricket Team Won Blind T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s blind cricket team made history by clinching the Blind T20 World Cup title defeating Bangladesh with 10 wickets in the final held in Multan. This historic win not only showcased the talent and determination of the Pakistani blind cricket team but also brought immense pride to the nation.

In a historic achievement, Pakistan’s blind cricket team claimed their first-ever Blind T20 World Cup title with a resounding 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the final at Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Bangladesh batted first and managed to score 139 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Arif Hussain was their top performer, scoring 54 runs. Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Babar Ali taking three key wickets, while Matiullah and Mohammad Salman each grabbed one.

Chasing a target of 140, the Green Shirts wasted no time, reaching the goal in just 11 overs without losing a wicket. Captain Nisar Ali led the charge with an unbeaten 72 runs, supported by Mohammad Safdar, who contributed a solid 47 not out. The pair’s remarkable partnership ensured a flawless victory.

This win is a monumental moment for Pakistan as it marks their first title in the history of the Blind T20 World Cup. The tournament began in 2012 and was previously dominated by India, who won all three earlier editions.

In 2012, India defeated Pakistan in the final by 29 runs, followed by another triumph in 2017 with a 9-wicket win. The 2022 tournament saw India retain their dominance by beating Bangladesh. However, Pakistan ended this streak in style, claiming the title on home soil in the tournament’s fourth edition.

Celebrations and Congratulations

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the team for their outstanding performance and historic win.

“Our blind cricket team displayed exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the tournament to earn the title of T20 World Champions,” said Naqvi. He praised the efforts of captain Nisar Ali and Mohammad Safdar, whose stellar performances sealed the victory in the final.

Naqvi also lauded the management for their role in the team’s success and expressed hope for continued triumphs in the future.

This victory not only brought glory to Pakistan but also highlighted the resilience and determination of the country’s blind cricket team. Fans across the nation celebrated the achievement, marking it as a proud moment in the country’s sports history.

As the champions return home, they bring with them not just a trophy but a wave of inspiration for aspiring athletes.
