
On February 19, 2025, attackers brutally killed seven passengers in Barkhan, Balochistan. They stopped a bus traveling from Quetta to Lahore. The attackers set up a checkpoint near the Rarkan area. They checked passengers’ identity cards and executed seven individuals from Punjab.
The victims included Muhammad Ishaq, Ashiq Hussain, Asim Ali, Adnan Mustafa, and Muhammad Ajmal. Authorities transported their bodies to Rakni Hospital. The hospital declared an emergency.
Moreover, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack. He called it a cowardly act by enemies of peace. He stated that targeting innocent civilians is unacceptable. He vowed to bring the attackers to justice.
Security forces, including FC and Levies, reached the scene. They are actively pursuing the terrorists.
Balochistan Incident Resembles Attack Happened in Musakhail
This incident also resembles an earlier attack on August 26, 2024. Militants killed 23 passengers in the Musakhail district. They blocked a highway and identified individuals from Punjab.
Moreover, Chief Minister Bugti assured the public of action. He said, “We will not rest until the terrorists are brought to justice.” He called the attack intolerable and promised a firm response. He reiterated the government’s commitment to holding terrorists accountable.

However, the incident highlights ongoing security challenges in Balochistan. It also raises concerns about the safety of travelers. The government and security forces must work together to protect citizens and prevent such tragedies.
