Rawalpindi Sealed With Containers as PTI Prepares for Protest
Rawalpindi is experiencing tight security today as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party prepares for a protest at Liaquat Bagh. After PTI announced the rally, police sealed off the venue to prevent large gatherings. They suspended the Metro bus service in the city, and containers blocked the Islamabad Expressway, causing traffic chaos.
Police forces are stationed at all entry points to Rawalpindi, and barricades restrict movement. The district administration requested four companies of Rangers to assist with security.
