Pakistan Bans 43 Scam Load Apps

The government of Pakistan has banned 43 scam load apps in an effort to protect consumers from fraud. The apps, which were available for download on both Android and iOS devices, promised users free or discounted mobile data and airtime. However, once users installed the apps, they were often charged exorbitant fees, or their personal information was stolen. The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (IT&T) announced the ban on scam load apps. The ministry said that the apps were violating the country's telecommunications laws and were causing financial harm to consumers.
