PTA Enforces VPN Registration for Banks, IT Firms, & Freelancers

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) now requires banks, IT firms, embassies, software houses, and freelancers to register their Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). This measure aims to improve data security and ensure uninterrupted internet access. Pakistan Software House Association (Pasha) has asked for more time to address issues related to unregistered VPNs. PTA organized a consultation meeting in Islamabad to discuss VPN registration process. Representatives from Ministry of IT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Bank of Pakistan, and other key institutions attended.
