Today marks 19 years since the devastating earthquake hit Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on October 8, 2005. The earthquake claimed over 80,000 lives and left many regions in ruins. People across the country are observing this anniversary with respect and a strong commitment to improving disaster preparedness. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.6, struck at 8:52 AM, severely affecting areas like Muzaffarabad, Balakot, Islamabad, and other northern parts of Pakistan.
