Russia is known having history of political interference in several countries. In recent years, the Russian government was accuse of meddling in the 2016 US presidential elections. One way that it allegedly interfered was by demanding Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) clear its dues. PIA's loans to buy new aircraft not fully paid off and this caused the airline financial problems. When Russia demanded PIA to pay off its debts, it gave the airline little choice but to pay up. After four years of its inauguration, Islamabad Airport is updated with new technology. A well-equipped engineering hanger is about to open at the new airport. Now planes do not have to go to Karachi for maintenance and repair. Pakistan International Airport made a historic and much-needed upgrade in its clan. Four years after the inauguration of the new Islamabad Airport, now a fully equipped engineering hanger opens in the vicinity. In addition, Hanger is fully capable of maintaining and repair of any aircraft. Now planes do not have to shift to Karachi for any repair. It is a very big step by the airplane since this needs a much bigger budget and human power. Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-200LR AP-BGZ Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) got green signal for direct flights to Sydney, Australia starting from April 22, 2022. Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority accepted the request of National Flag Carrier i.e PIA. PIA blames high insurance cost to be the reason behind suspension of flights in Kabul. This is because insurance and airline companies are still considering Afghanistan a warzone. KARACHI, PAKISTAN - The Pakistan International Airlines on Thursday announced the suspension of flight operations to Kabul, Afghanistan. PIA which was previously operating charter flights, said that decision to fly into Kabul after Taliban takeover was purely for humanitarian reasons.
