Lt. Gen. Syed Asim Munir appointed as New COAS
President Dr. Arif Alvi on Thursday approved the summary sent by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to appoint Lt. Gen. Syed Asim Munir as the next Army Chief ( COAS ) and Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza as the new Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
In an official statement issued by the Secretariat of the President of the State, it is said that the President of the State, Dr. Arif Alvi, has immediately promoted Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza to the rank of General and appointed him as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff from November 27, 2022.
