Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Meet Today for Zilhajj Moon Sighting
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet today in Karachi to sight moon for Zilhajj. Zonal meetings will also take place in provincial capitals and Islamabad, starting 30 minutes before Maghrib prayer. This is to ensure a coordinated effort in moon sighting across the country.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, will lead the meeting.
Earlier, on June 3, an official from Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council made a prediction about moon sighting for Eid-ul-Azha. Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of council, predicted that moon would likely be visible on June 7. According to him, moon will born on June 6 at 5:38 PM. By evening of June 7, moon will be 25 hours old, making it likely to be seen. He expects Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on Monday, June 17.
