Shaheen Afridi Refuses To Become Vice Captain Of Pakistan Team
Shaheen Afridi, the former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, has refused the vice-captaincy role of the Pakistan cricket team, which is recently offered to him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Shaheen, a fast bowler, led Pakistan during a series against New Zealand in January. Unfortunately, the team's performance was poor, and they lost 4-1 in the five-match series. Following this series, and after the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) brought back Babar Azam as the captain of the T20 team.
The PCB hoped that appointing Shaheen as vice-captain would bring stability to the team as they prepare for the T20 World Cup. However, Shaheen's displeasure with how the PCB communicated the leadership changes led to his decision to decline the offer.
