PTA Enforces VPN Registration for Banks, IT Firms, and Freelancers

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) now requires banks, IT firms, embassies, software houses, and freelancers to register their Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). This measure aims to improve data security and ensure uninterrupted internet access. The Pakistan Software House Association (Pasha) has asked for more time to address issues related to unregistered VPNs. PTA organized a consultation meeting in Islamabad to discuss the VPN registration process. Representatives from the Ministry of IT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Bank of Pakistan, and other key institutions attended.
