Youm-e-Istehsal: A Day of Protest Against India’s Kashmir Actions
On August 5th, Pakistan observes Youm-e-Istehsal to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people and to protest India's actions in Occupied Kashmir. A special walk from the Foreign Office to D-Chowk in Islamabad is held to express this support, with prominent figures and citizens participating.
President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted India's illegal actions to undermine the disputed status of Kashmir and to alter its demographic and political landscape. He stressed that these actions violate international laws, including Security Council resolutions and the 4th Geneva Convention. According to President Zardari, India's internal laws and court decisions cannot defeat the Kashmiri people's just struggle, which has lasted for seven decades.
